Changes, 2015

Remember Stevie Nicks from Fleetwood Mac? She wrote and sang the song Landslide in 1975, and was later released by the Dixie Chicks in 2002. I think about this song every time I engage in some kind of change in my life. In fact, I don’t just think about it … it haunts my mind and thoughts until I walk all the way through whatever changes I am embracing. So, needless to say, it is currently ever present in my mind these days.

If you are reading this post on my web site, you will notice it looks a little different. You might notice the heading, or web site name, is slightly different; it now carries my name. You can now access this web site using the website name … Within the next year, the web address of will expire, so you will need to use the new address to access the site.

There are other, more impactful changes taking place here as well. These changes have to do with the traditional Native American ceremonies we continue to hold here. Many years ago, Donna Andrews and I had a vision of building a healthy, holistic community based on honor, respect, and acceptance that would welcome, nurture, and empower all who found sacredness in Nature, Mother Earth, and All Our Relations. It was to be a place where sacred space, Ancient Wisdom teachings and ceremonies were available to all people, regardless of race, creed, or color, seeking healing on all levels and planes, for themselves, Mother Earth and all of creation. Our goal was to reach a larger community, so all people could come and experience spiritual awakening through education, ceremony and gatherings. And, we have done just that!

Our community of people who regularly come together to celebrate the ceremonies, support our efforts through their continual contributions and support, and find their own spiritual sacredness within our humble offerings has reached its maximum capacity for sweat lodge ceremonies. It is through the efforts of these members that we are able to continue offering our ceremonies; however, I have noticed over the past several months, these members are not always able to fully participate in our sweat lodge ceremonies. While we have continued to welcome newcomers to the lodge, I am often finding our members choosing to sit by the sacred fire instead of inside the lodge, thus making space for others while denying themselves what they come here seeking.

Going forward, we will no longer post or advertise the dates for any upcoming sweat lodge ceremony. If you have recently attended a sweat lodge ceremony, you were asked to sign our book indicating you wanted to receive information about any future sweats. If you have not attended a sweat lodge ceremony within the last four months, please let me know if you want to be on a mailing list to receive sweat lodge notices. We will continue to welcome newcomers to these sacred ceremonies, but newcomers must be invited and participating with one of our current or past participants.

While the above seems like a huge and impactful change to me, to many of you this may seem somewhat insignificant. For you, you will be given notification of pending dates and times, and will attend as usual or whenever possible. To me, this is huge because of my commitment to all of you seeking that spiritual, peaceful and sacred space that resides within you but isn’t always or easily accessible.

One other change that has taken place here is … and, I am happy to announce … I have finished the book I have been working on this past year and a half, and have sent it off to be edited! I cannot thank each of you enough for all of the help and suggestions you passed onto me throughout the book’s creation! Each of you led me to write a better book than I could have ever done on my own! And, believe me when I say, I used 99.9% of all the suggestions and edits submitted. Now I just need to find a publisher who thinks its as good as each of you did!

Things that haven’t changed … I am still committed to helping all who are seeking life skills, spiritual and personal guidance, readings and healing on all levels. I love my work. It allows me to meet, work with, and learn from so many wonderful people from so many different walks of life. I wish such joy and happiness for each of you.
