Winter Solstice, 2014

Later today, around 6:03pm EST, our sun will officially reach its furthest point in the southern skies. Those of us in the northern hemisphere will experience our shortest day and longest night of the year. Then, just a couple of hours later at 8:36pm, the New Moon of December crosses our skies.

Needless to say, this is a very powerful time. The Winter Solstice is considered a most powerful turning point in any year, because it sets the ‘tone’ for the coming year. This year we couple it with the energy of the New Moon, and we find ourselves ‘off to the races’!

Set your intentions now for the coming year. Think long and hard on what you want to create or get rid of this coming month and year. The energy from these two events will significantly catapult your intentions, along with their creation or demise. So be careful what you wish for!

Embrace this time of the New Moon. Be bold and creative. Allow yourself to step into a realm of spiritual uplifting. Find peaceful solace in yourself and all that you do. Hold onto that peace while building your world upon that foundation. It may be hard to imagine a world of peace. All it takes is for each of us to build our own world on a foundation of peaceful love and understanding. Its not that hard, if you really want it.
